Katya Emelyanova (b. 1984) lives and works in Moscow. Her practice explores the phenomenology of aesthetic experience, aiming to evoke emotion, foster direct engagement, and maintain accessibility. Drawing from fauvism and abstraction, her vibrant forms begin as abstract concepts that gradually evolve into refined, expressive compositions. Though immediately engaging, her works often involve complex technical execution, developed in collaboration with engineers. She holds a BFA from Art History department of the Russian State University for the Humanities (2006), participated in the Yuri Kuper’s art studio in Paris (2008). A long internship in Central Saint Martins University London (2019). Emelyanova has participated in group exhibitions in particular the Fourth Art Biennale Moscow (2012), Art Fairs, including group exhibition in Saatchi Gallery in London (2023). Also has solo exhibition in main museums in Moscow: Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Multimedia Art Museum (MAMM).
