Alaattin Efe was born in Konya, Turkey, in 1989. He graduated from Konya Fine Arts High School in 2007 and went on to study Painting at Necmettin Erbakan University, where he completed his degree in 2012.
Renowned for his exploration of the subconscious and existential themes, Efe creates works that are both haunting and visually captivating. His minimalist use of black pen on white paper, seen in works such as Jouska (2024), reveals the inner turmoil and existential inquiries that run through his practice. Deeply influenced by psychoanalytic theory and surrealism, his art probes the complexities of human existence, giving form to what often remains hidden beneath the surface.
