Born in 1985 in Iran, Maryam Lamei graduated in Graphics and in 2015 received the 2nd Art Emblem from the Iran Ministry of Science and Research.
Inspired by the Iranian tradition of “Flower and Bird” (Golomorgh) painting, Lamei has developed a unique style that fuses historical techniques with her own contemporary approach. Her works reinterpret these classical forms while extending beyond traditional methods to create new visual languages.
She is an active member of the Iran Miniaturist Association, the Tehran Visual Arts Association, and the Zanjan Visual Arts Association. Lamei has participated in more than 20 exhibitions in Iran’s museums, galleries, and cultural centers, and has presented her work internationally with solo exhibitions in Paris (2009) and Istanbul (2019). She has also been featured in a live TV interview with Ulusal Network in Turkey (2019).
