Biography

Dr. Haresh Lalvani, collaborating with renowned art-metal fabricator Milgo-Bufkin, has been creating unique sculptures that comprise a substantial body of work. This work exemplifies the artist's groundbreaking work and his original artistic processes derived directly from this quest inspired by nature's designs, its generative principles and formal codes. He is an artist-inventor, design scientist and an architect-morphologist who navigates the space between Art and Science comfortably and uniquely to create original works.

Lalvani’s signature sculpture SEED54 is installed on the outdoor plaza of 1330 Avenue of Americas (@ 54th Street), his 235 ALGOS is in the lobby of 475 Park Avenue South, both in Manhattan, two outdoor pieces were installed at OMI Arts International Center, Ghent, NY and another in a resort hotel in China. His other works include a public commission MORPHING88 for MTA Arts and his art panels for Pratt Film and Video building.

Lalvani’s ALGORHYTHM COLUMNS, in titanium, are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Besides MoMA, he has exhibited at the Museum of Art and Design, NY, Grand Rapids Arts Museum, Grand Rapids, MI, Moss Gallery NY and Miami Design, among others.

His solo exhibition at Design Miami 2011, presented by Moss Gallery, New York, attracted wide media attention and his sculpture CONSTELLATION II was “among this year’s highlight”, a “top-pick”, and amongst “top-ten” chosen by “world’s most influential curators and collectors

He was a speaker at TED2004, (Monterey, CA) and at TEDxBrooklyn 2010, he has published widely and has many patented inventions to his credit.
